	BAND RULES
	No successful organization can function properly without well-disciplined participants.  Band is not a mandatory subject and it is assumed that all students are willing participants.  It is the student’s responsibility to adhere to all classroom rules and proper behavior is extremely important and expected.  Actions of one member reflect upon the reputation of all members; therefore inappropriate behavior will be grounds for serious consequences. BAND GOALS •    show respect at all times to others in the group •    play with good tone, pitch, balance, and blend •    play musically •    play with good posture, hand position, embouchure, and technique •    keep the instruments and room clean and neat •    be organized •    work together as a group BAND RULES •    arrive to class on time •    come prepared with all supplies •    do your best •    play only when asked to •    do not play other students’ instruments, including percussion instruments •    no food, drink, or gum in the band room BAND CONSEQUENCES •    verbal or non-verbal warning •    private discussion concerning behavior •    detention and parent phone call •    principal conference
