• Among young players ages 5–17, 56% participate in a school program.
 
• Among teenagers, 90% of those who play an instrument agree that learning to play is something they will always be glad they did, and 88% agree that music is a very important part of their life.

• 95% agree that playing a musical instrument is a good hobby, a means of self-expression, and provides a sense of accomplishment.
 
• 96% of music students agree that playing in school band or orchestra is a good way to develop teamwork skills.
 
• Music training prepares young minds to handle a wide variety of tasks outside of music itself.
 
• Student with experience in music performance scored an average of 22 points above the average on the verbal portion of the S.A.T. exam, and an average of 18 points above the average on the math portion of the S.A.T. exam.
 
• The gap between the scores achieved by musicians on the S.A.T. exam and the scores of non-musicians is increasing.
